Nothing illegal about having FBI files. Every president should have access to them. The crime comes when a president puts opponents under surveillance without a warrant, like Nixon did, and Bush is doing. Bush's methods are much worse than Nixon's as he has super technology on his side which Nixon never had. Nixon was removed from office because of these types of abuses of power. And the Supreme Court voted 9-0 to outlaw illegal wiretapping. The reason illegal wiretapping is so serious is that it could enable a president subvert democracy by getting dirt on political opponents and finding out their plans, thereby turning our fair democracy into a corrupt autocracy. it is a high crimes and very much impeachment worthy.
