Peter if you've been reading the posts you will note....that almost nobody believes that Intuit will be able to profit from online commerce! That in itself is just about good enough for me. The latest press on Quicken 98 is a good start.

If you're reading this thread go over and look at the Posts I made on the Excite thread today. I'm pretty much talking to myself over there too. Even though my trades in the last 3 weeks have brought me in nearly a 100% return on that Dog.

The biggest debate seems to center on whether MS will/can dominate like that have the operating system. Let's concede it to them and say they do.

After that concession....How much in revenues would it add to MSs overall operating revenue quaterly? 100 million? 200 million? 500 million? So what, 10% to earnings max...near term?

Let's look at the other side....You have Intuit & Checkfree partnered.

Last Quarter Intuit did $97 Million, Checkfree did $55 Million.

What is the percentage increase in quarterly revenue if Intuit & Checkfree come up with 10% - 20% - 30% - 40% - 50% - 60% of the Market? In my opinion there's plenty of room for them to "screw it up" and still double.

Since Intuit it not revealing the E-Commerce numbers in their SEC financials, I'm relying on Checkfree to guide me in where they may be at combined. Checkfree is growing at a couple hundred percent a year.

I've been Buying & Trading all of the above...with mixed results;

1600%+ on Excite
400%+ on Checkfree
20%+ on Intuit

Currently I'm Long all three, but I have to tell you if those rampaging Bulls don't stop messing with my current Excite positions I'll be selling out....at least one position for trading p's.

As to whether I'd be buying right now....you could....maybe do better on price. But not like $4-$5 better from here.

I personally don't like to commit any more that 1/3 of the cash I want to invest in a Stock at the beginning of establishing a position. Why ? Cause the damm thing could go either way from my start.

If it takes off....no problem.

If it backs off to support... I'll double the position and trade out on any runup. And I'll repeat as often as necessary.

Then while I'm waiting for the future results & news to establish a clear trend I'll play around elsewhere.....Right now I'm in Phase II on Excite....which to me is FULL BORE!
