If the Iraqis want a democracy, they should lead the fight to obtain it. That's what the US did. Refraining from invading Iraq is not "perpetuating dictatorship" any more than refraining from stealing candy from a baby is "perpetuating bad dental hygiene". If it's not your baby, keep your hands off it. Re: "Isn't this the SAME POLICY the US is accused of having pursued for the past 40 years since decolonization of the region?"
