Thanks for the complement. I was very surprised to hear the common pricing strategy, but I do understand it. SEG is very interested in getting early penetration on FC. Since SEG has been first to market, it is an area they can dominate if they can just convince the OEM's to use it. If the OEM's wait until everyone has a FC drive then SEG gets no benefit from being first out of the chute.

Also, think of it in marketing terms. Maybe they increased prices on SCSI drives to maintain the margins on the FC drives or maybe they lowered the price on the FC drives. We won't know until we see pricing on the new SCSI drives from QNTM, IBM, etc. As everyone may already know, FC HDD cost is not at parity with SCSI, but SEG did announce some months ago (~2) that FC was "coming down in cost". I've said before that I think that FC will be half of the high end production of HDD's by 2000. I still believe it.
