If they were libertarians they might do that. But pro-choice means a choice about the most intimate details of your life, whether or not to wear a seat belt, or a helmet on a motorcycle, doesn't really rise to that level for most people- and for most people these technologies save lives. I was amazed at the statistics on the improvement of child safety with car seats and seat belts (when I was checking in to the improvements in accident rates for children), and the same goes for adults. I know seat belts are your personal bete noir, but there is such unanimity on the issue now, and such proof that it saves lives, that your reference to abortion in this context- which is quite a different type of choice, and involves either an 18 year commitment to a child, is simply illogical.

Pro choice doesn't have to mean pro ALL choice- it refers to a very specific choice. It doesn't mean, for example, that you ought to have the choice to be a cannibal, if you can find a willing victim.
