Mr. Goethals:

I, too, was somewhat disappointed in the market's post-conference reaction, especially given 1) the rave reviews for Amati's presentation by SI's on-scene reporters (thanks again, gentlemen!), 2) the current strength in smaller stocks, and 3) the current strength in the xDSL group (where AMTX was right up there with the leaders until recently).

If Amati stressed the fact that they intend to do a secondary this fall, though, that could be dampening enthusiasm (buyers may be waiting for the deal to climb aboard -- although I would have hoped that they'd at least buy "starter positions" at these prices.)

A Salomon post-conference buy recommendation sure wouldn't hurt!
