Buddy, I think we should become very frugal on anything, but that doesn't mean to trash everything. There is plenty room to limit government spending without shutting down those that are beneficial to the honest people of the nation. That does not include welfare thieves, greedy doctors and other medical services that are raping the Medicare system, and all of the other wastes of money I mentioned in the last post. The point would be to get rid of the leeches, and doing so, will bring the budget into balance. It may take a few years, but can be done if the administration carries a big stick, and starts swinging it at Congress. Ban pork barrel politics, and scrape off the riders attached to necessary bills. It may become absolutely necessary to follow Shakespeare's advice, and kill all the lawyers first. Just think about that. Without lawyers, there would actually be people in Congress
I don't like the idea of a constitutional amendment because they have screwed up the constitution too much as it is. A forceful executive branch can get the job done, and stop all of the waste, and theft. If such an administration cannot be found, then an amendment may be necessary, and I would support that, but it would be my last stand position. |
