Loses it again
Immediately following one of the most partisan victories ever for a Supreme Court nominee, an obviously irate Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, the unsuccessful 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, exited the Senate chamber yesterday and spouted that his Democratic colleagues "didn't bring out the [expletive] knives!"
Either way, a short time later Judge Samuel A. Alito Jr. was sworn in as the nation's 110th Supreme Court justice.
"It was distasteful," says one of three people Mr. Kerry addressed his remark to, among them Wade Henderson, executive director for the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights. "Here he is supposedly a presidential hopeful, somebody who is supposed to have class and stature. I'm disappointed."
