Well, Andrew you said "show me the money" and so my copyright posts caused UTEK to close above $30 today <g>. Seriously, if you want to see the real money let me show you Verdant Technology and more specifically P-Gild. Now why did Art name his new company "Verdant." Look it up. It means "green." No, it was not named for Greenpeace it was named that way because it is the color of money to UTEK's future. I believe it. Art likes to make money and he likes to give it away. My kind of hero.

As a matter of fact, there will be no peace invloved as this involves a war with AMAT's RTP (rapid thermal processing) in a head to head battle. Word has it, however, that because the UTEK P-Gild process eliminates 13 process steps currently required to dope silicon during IC fabrication (and has achieved uniform thermal annealing of sandiched layers), it has better throughput than the AMAT device at 100 WPH compared with 60 WPH. Applied would like to have this baby. Art said in his 4/24/97 conference call: "We have demonstrated the potential use of this new technology and devices having device designs of .07 microon features, thus providing several generations from .18 into the year 2010." Well, how much money are we talking about?

When UTEK surveyed customers recently over need requirements, they wanted to order a machine without ever having seen one built! Customers said there will be a need for 100 to 150 machines by 2000 - 2001. They will go for approxiamely $4.5m a piece. UTEK has targeted revenues from this venture at $350m by the year 2000 from this business segment alone! IR has confirmed this as a goal. Pretty good for a company that brought in close to $200m total in 1996. Now there is some real money. First machine to be shipped in first quarter of 1998.
