Not. I can't think of a serious study of cross generational stratification that comes to that conclusion.

You might take a look at Jerome Karabels' book, The Chosen, a study of admission policies at Harvard, Yale, and Princeton from the late 19th century to the late 70s of the 20th century. It's very clear that from the viewpoint of the elite, it's an ongoing bit of taking care of one's own.
