To this day President Bush states that islam is a culture/religion of peace yet it is that same culture/religion that we the free world are fighting to change.".....

Where we disagree is painting all Muslims as a bunch of fanatical wackos who will kill an infidel at their first opportunity, and this belief I reject as bordering on extreme religious bigotry.

I had the opportunity to hang out with quite a few muslims, many of them Americans working at translators/interpreters. We got on famously and agreed that the fanatics were giving Islam a bad name.

Maybe if you re-read the history of the Crusades, or perhaps the 30 years war, you'll see where Christians were just as brutal about spreading their beliefs.

So should we assert that all Catholics and Protestants practice a violent religion???

Should we believe that all Christians are as militant and fanatical as Eric Rudolph?

Let's keep the fanatics in their own little box, while ensuring that we don't mistakenly cause moderates to join them because of our broad-based stereotypes.

We have enough of them to fight already without fueling the fires of fanaticism.
