Tim I've been wondering about the weak response last night that dude on the Dem side to Bush's address gave. It's been bugging me, so I thought about it a bit, and think I've figured it out. Here's my thoughts on that:
The Democrats know that they have Bush by the throat.
They could have easily destroyed him about what he said.
They are not attacking right now because of timing for the 2006 elections.
They are saving their "powder",and we will see it used before very long.
If they had let loose after his speech with an address from Kerry etc. they would have won a few points that would be wasted. It would sound like sour grapes to the average 'Merican.
I sincerely think that my party is pretty savvy, although they have tripped a bunch in recent years.
That's why I think they put up Tim Cain (sp) with his weak speech. It frustrates many here I know.
...and no I am not the eternal optimist.
