Further collaboration that labor is doing better, at least in a nominal sense can be gleaned by January's Daily Treasury Statement. Taxes withheld from wages yoy are off the charts.

Jan. 2005: 136.232 wage withholding, total including corp: 150.797
Jan. 2006: 151.630 wage withholding, total including corp: 170.230


Not sure I agree with your analysis. How much of that growth was at the top end (highly paid executives etc?)

How much of it was from someone taking an extra part time job?

There are lots of reasons that can be higher and rising overall wages from people who need it most does not seem to be happening from what I gather.
