I think it's a bit much to expect me to know how the IRS handles tips. It's hard enough to deal with the tax laws that apply to me. I shouldn't have to know anything about rental property taxes if I don't rent property.

And are you sure that they tax tips at fifteen percent? Maybe that's just withholding, not the actual tax paid. That would make sense. Taxing tips at a flat fifteen percent doesn't.
