Remember the stir John Lennon caused when he said that the Beatles were more popular than Jesus?

More or less the same type of thing, except that Muslims on the whole don't seem to look beyond the "insult" for the substantive message in the cartoon, i.e., the increasing violence in the name of an allegedly peaceful religion.

I would like to see Muslim commentary not infected with zealotry, but I suspect such commentary will be as rare as hen's teeth.
