Leaving aside the rhapsodic Apple bits, one aspect of this discussion which may well have significant validity with respect to the topic of this thread is whether or not MSFT can continue to bring products to the marketplace which are compelling upgrades. Certainly Win95 hasn't been the wild, overnight success that it was projected to be and there seem to be a lot of signs that Win98 may face an even steeper acceptance curve. Likewize NT; Likewise Office. None of these are cases of mass migrations to non-MSFT products, just saturation -- people tired of thrashing, happy with what they have, and reluctant to fork out for yet more hardware upgrades to support bloated products of marginally greater functionality.
