Remember Rachael Carlson ? She warned us all about what we were doing to the environment way back when everyone raised an eyebrow about her predictions... which in my lifetime have been born out.

Remember that I often say here that I have a lot of opinions from my experiences.. Well, the one big experience was my father who used DDT ,Chlordane and Malathion extensively. We had a gentleman's farm and all kinds of fruit trees, orchards. Dad sprayed the trees,vegetables and over the years constantly exposing himself to these chemicals,two of them that are now banned. In fact in the garage sale after his death of a form of leukemia.. which I attribute to his flagrant but naive use of these chemicals we found gallon jugs in the garage.

Also, I used a lot of the same chemicals when trying to combat the mosquitoes and termites in my home in the Virgin Islands.. Poured Chlordane without dilution around the foundation of the house.. (:( Always wondered why I felt dizzy after using malathion ... It is absorbed through the skin..

Now, I have gone the other extreme. Biodegradables...no harsh chemicals in the house and when using anything strong.. lots of ventilation.

By the way, it's a great thing to have a home on a golf course down here.. I wouldn't be near a golf course if one paid me. The pesticides and insecticide sprays that are used prolifically have caused friends of mine, who have homes on the courses and particularly near the greens, to become ill.
When after a time they moved, all symptoms disappeared...

Toxins are deadly.
