About 10 years too late, at least. If he had left in '96 he would have gone out on a high note. Instead he held on to the job long after he was past it. I thought he was past it and should retire when I saw him in December 1999. He turned 80 this December. If only he had retired at 70 and taken up fly fishing instead of company wreaking, he could have saved a lot of people a lot of pain. I wonder what finally convinced him to retire now, when bankrupting two companies in a row couldn't?
