I'm not sure that there was just one reason for the momentum. My guess is that all the technical factors and indicators looked up on the same day. I really think that this thing has just been waiting to burst and needed just a little shove, like Richard said the Vinik story probably provided the push. Shorters have interesting mindsets sometimes. Anyone interested in short squeezes ought to review ZITL's on it's SI thread. Very interesting phenomenon we have here! Mitch
