No, what Jim is talking about is different. Alzheimer's is connected to the amyloid plaques, which are tangles of protein in the cells. Whether the cause or a symptom is unknown at this time. Because they tend to have high levels of aluminum, it was once thought that aluminum cookware could cause it. That doesn't seem to be the case any more.

What Jim is talking about is the steady stream of dying brain cells as you age.
