>>NeoRx stock climbs after financing announcement

Friday February 3, 1:38 pm ET

Shares in NeoRx Corp. rose more than 30 percent in early trading Friday, following an announcement that the Seattle biotech signed a deal for $65 million in new private financing.

The $65 million private placement of newly issued shares of stock and the issuance of warrants for the purchase of additional shares of stock is being led by MPM Capital of Boston and San Francisco.

After the deal closes, MPM Capital will own 30 percent of the cancer drug company's stock (NASDAQ: NERX - News) and will fill a director's seat on the NeoRx board of directors.

NeoRx also received a $3.5 million bridge loan that company officials said will be used for working capital.

On Friday, the stock was trading in the range of $1.10 per share, up 26 cents. In early January, NeoRx received a delisting notice from the NASDAQ stock exchange because its stock fell below $1 for 30 straight business days.
