I have been to grad school with several students from China (mainland) who were here on UNESCO scholarships. I have first hand accounts of how the communist Chinese govt. take people away from their families and they never heard of again. To me this is disappear. I did not say they kill them or that they do not kill them. But they just disappear and the families do not hear from them again. When you mention about accounts from dissidents I am reminded of Ahmed Chalabi. These dissidents have vested interests and I do not trust their accounts.

China does not have oil like Iraq does. Iraq does not have nukes like China does. These two significant differences between the two countries is what prompts Bush to look at these two countries differently even though both of them violate human rights to the same degree.

That's the truth my friend. Don't be afraid to speak or admit the truth. Doing otherwise would be unwise.
