John,
I read Drum and Clemons occasionally, but they are not on my daily list. I used to read Drum more than I do now, but for my taste, he has too much lightweight filler between the more substantive posts. I will, however, give Clemons another look, based on your reference.
I like Kos and Firedoglake because, although they started out as just blogs, they have matured into communities of passionate, informed activists, who watch the traditional media closely and call them on inaccuracies, deliberate or otherwise.
They also raise quite a bit of netroots cash for candidates they deem worthy.
Glenn Greenwald of Unclaimed Territory has flown to DC on his own dime this week to try and meet with staff members of the Senate Judiciary Committee. He and his readers constructed an amazingly detailed and cogent set of questions to ask AG Gonzales concerning the NSA affair, and Glenn wants to make them available to the Committee members.
I think this kind of informed involvement in our republic is healthy, and gives we the people a powerful collective voice, one that we would not otherwise have. |
