CARTOONS: TURKISH PM INTERVENES [Andrew Stuttaford] With Turkey now aspiring to membership of the EU, it’s not encouraging to read this: “The Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, was quoted in the Turkish press saying: "Caricatures of prophet Muhammad are an attack against our spiritual values. There should be a limit of freedom of press." Well, leaving aside what should or should not be permissible in Turkey (a separate controversy), Erdogan is missing the point.
