Several of those pieces (WordPerfect, Quattro Pro, and Presentations) came to me in the form of Corel's new WordPerfect Suite 8, which turned out to be one of the most pleasant surprises I've had in a long time. Faithful readers of this column will recall my dismissal, not very long ago, of the new suite's predecessor, WordPerfect Suite 7, as an interesting but flawed and ultimately doomed attempt to compete with Microsoft Office. Fortunately, the folks at Corel weren't as ready to throw in the towel as I might have been, because
WordPerfect Suite 8 does more than compete with Office--it surpasses it in many significant ways.

CyberMax bundles a wealth of software with the system, including Corel's WordPerfect Suite 7.
