I would say that" peak oil "is a very vague term that has little sense unless price and ever advancing production technology are taken into account.
What is more .... we are experiencing now a problem of transport infrastucture and lack of refining capacity, not Hydrocarbon scacity. The natural gas delivery grid and storage capacity in no longer up to the task of ensuring continuous supplies.US Refineries no longer meet the ever increasing demand for unleaded.....Sadley the same can be said of the national electrical grid.
Lastly...There is a heck of alot of money to be made through speculation.....and speculation would appear to be the countries number one sport.
Everyone can buy options...those options create a paper illusion of physicle scarcity or plenty.
Just my point of view.
