Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.

I might add, that it might be a little presumptuous to thank Christ for forgiving our sins when we have yet to ask for forgiveness. We need to ask forgiveness for sins, we don't just presume that they have already been forgiven without our asking for forgiveness.

Of course at Holy Baptism our sins are remitted as all true Christians confess in the Symbol of Faith, the Holy Creed.

"I confess one baptism for the remission of sins..."
