The second amendment is not about protecting rightwing militias, white supremicists and religious extrtemist nuts amassing large arsenals and goofballs "collecting" machineguns with drum and banana magazines. These are the types most angry about common sense gun laws who claim the 2nd amendment somehow protects them. BS. The militias are our National Guard and they are already in place in each state. We don't need rightwing whites-only groups to take their places. Common sense gun control and safety laws are very necessary in crowded modern society. In fact, the NSA should supprt Smart guns which only work for their owners. The NRA attitudes don't fit in modern society, only in a wild western atmosphere. But even if you live in the wilds of Alaska, you have no need of automatic assault rifles. There's just no excuse for them whatsoever and all the law enforcement groups are against them.
