That Economist article showed an ugly personal bias which distorts reality completely. Gore is not running for president and is not our best candidate anyway. Kerry probably is running, and one of the reasons he's so qualified is that he makes sure he's very well-informed about world affairs, including having personal relationships with all kinds of dofferent world leaders. All politicians court celebrities for obvious reasons, but Paris Hilton was not at any event Gore attended, not has she ever expressed any interest in politics. Angelina Jolie has and is now a very important celebrity in the issues department. If Kerry gets to know her she could prove a valuable ally. Especially if married to Brad Pitt.
