re: This is just another example of how the ME is different from Europe and the US. We have corruption but no where near the amount in the ME. I am sure this is all very confusing to the Bushies who don't have a clue how it works there. They thought corruption would be on the level they practice here. Does respect for the rule of law come from Democracy or does Democracy come from the respect for the rule of law? Probably too simple a question... they are probably separate issues. Can Democracy thrive in an environment where there is no respect for the rule of law?
