Acting like an Opposition Party is all very well, but not if opposing for the sake of opposition is your be-all and end-all. To get back into power, you generally need to be FOR something.

Polls show that the majority of Americans feel that the country is on the wrong track and that they want the Dems to act as a brake on the GOP. In this case, opposition for its own sake is valid.

Dems have never been good at stating their positions; I wouldn't expect them to change anytime soon.

Like Bush or hate him, I think it's pretty clear what he's for.

Actually, I don't know what he stands for beyond helping his base, the Haves and HaveMores. His history of saying one thing while doing the opposite is extensive and well-documented.

BTW, I am a centrist Independent, but I tend to lean more Left these days as I feel that those in power currently are hurting our Republic.
