Kaiser says Ogee and hold Atna for big dreams

2006-02-02 14:47 ET - In the News

John Kaiser, writing in a Jan. 12, 2006, Tracker, says hold Atna Resources Ltd. at $2.18; officially, a "Spec Cycle Hold 100%." Mr. Kaiser said buy five times between November, 1994, and December, 1999, at prices from 30 cents and $1.16. An investment of $1,000 each time is worth $19,932. Atna is also followed by fellow letter writer Doug Casey. Mr. Kaiser says on Jan. 11, 2006, Atna released additional drill results for its Pinson project in Nevada. The highlight was a 58.5-foot interval of 1.691-ounce-per-ton gold that intersected the Ogee zone at a shallower depth. He says, however, more holes appear to shrink the potential along strike south and at depth. Atna hopes to develop Pinson as a 100,000-ounce-per-year underground mine. What Mr. Kaiser likes, however, is the "mystery potential" in the Linehole zone underneath shales to the north. He says similar high-grade lenses may exist in the CX pit. Barrick Gold Corp. has three months to decide if it wants to back in for 70 per cent by spending $30-million over three years. At $2.18, Pinson has an implied value of $143-million. This represents fair speculative value for a $500-million dream target, he says, but a knockout if $2-billion is your dream target.
