James I certainly sympathize .....BOY, DO I!!!.....but with falling revenues ...the Maxtor punk out ...stalled DST growth.... tough litigation luck...a little trivial insider selling....delays in KM due to the MR transition ....an unbroken series of negative earnings revisions from the now vanished AXC analysts....well, this stock has had nowhere to go but down. And I would not underestimate the possibility that it will decline even further ...possibly quite a bit further. Pardon the soapbox, but AXC has had many bad bounces of the ball in the last year and while sometimes a price decline of this sort is a sign of a fatal flaw in a company's business plan or fundamental potential ...and the best course even for long term investors is a quick exit on any surge ...in this case...in my opinion ....long term...AXC becomes a better, though far from risk free, buy with each downward move. It is simply not fair to judge DST until software support for the heavy metal has completely kicked in and ...as Gus has mentioned repeatedly ....the corporate backup makeover has gathered steam. The Petco buy,,,and more importantly the Petco comments the other day are representative of that. Likewise it is not fair to pass judgement on their litigation efforts until the smoke has cleared on all three trilas. Takes time. And it is certainly not fair to pas judgement on their KM strategy until they have time to perfect and sell KM with MR ...then to see how the companies that employ the clear economic and competitive advantages that KM offers do with those lines. If they do well...in my opinion...industry standard status becomes only a matter of time. And that revenue fuels other areas. And thus the rather remarkable upside potential still. But it sure will take a while, at best, to play out....and until those revenues actually begin to surface...this stock will likely lag. Tough ride, but I plan to take it. Good luck in your decisions ....sorry for you ( and myself) that it oftens hurts so much .....maybe AXC should pass out paregoric Pall malls with each share ....as the old saying goes..." filter the pain on the way to the brain."....actually to me it looks pretty cheap here, but could sure fall some more. If it falls some more, I'm gonna try and snore. |
