Re: Draw a cartoon of the Prophet Mohammed, especially in an unflattering situation, and every Muslim everywhere is incensed and many are incited to riot.
Somehow, the Danish cartoons were but the straw that broke the Muslim camel's back... But we shouldn't forget that it all started with the 9/11 conspiracy, the mother of all sacrileges. What most people in the West still don't realize is that Arab public opinion --the Arab street as it's condescendingly dubbed-- has never, ever bought the official Western version of 911 as a terrorist plot hatched by Bin Laden in his Afghan cave and carried out by 19 Muslim fanatics, including a dozen Saudis... 99% of Arab opinion deem 911 as an Israeli-US conspiracy to justify Zionism and the US assault(s) on Arab/Muslim countries.
Hence the deep, almost unfathomable "cognitive chasm" between Western public opinion and the Arab one: for the past four and a half years now, people in the West have been successfully brainwashed into swallowing the bogus stories about Bin laden, Mullah Omar, Zarqawi, al-Zawahiri and company, all dismissed by Arab opinion as imaginary bogeymen dreamt up by US intelligence. But then, what could Arabs' dissenting opinion/voice have done? Both Western and Arab mainstream media have slavishly toed the Judeofascist line and wouldn't have granted wild, "anti-Semitic", conspiracy loonies access to their mass audiences. At the same time, there was nothing sacrilegious in the Judeofascist medias' relentless branding, and bashing of, Muslim bogeymen as evil, bloodthirsty terrorists --just as it wouldn't be sacrilegious for Muslims to brand Timothy McVeigh as a fanatical, Protestant terrorist... The Danish caricatures, however, crossed the line by extending the Judeofascist smear to Islam and its Prophet themselves and, understandably, triggered a Muslim outcry: "it's bad enough for those dirty Westerners to lie about 911 and blame Muslims for it, but it's intolerable for us that they push their luck and ignominiously sully our most sacred icons".
But the cognitive chasm between the brainwashed West and the Muslim world has yet to be bridged as most Westerners say to themselves, "Look at those (Muslim) fanatics! They destroyed the WTC towers! They keep bombing us in Madrid, London, Istanbul,... all in the name of Islam! And we're not even allowed to caricature them?!? Who do they think they are???? Are we, brave, peaceful, civilized, freedom-loving Westerners supposed to yield to the Islamic diktats??? To HELL with them! Let's draw even cruder, lewder caricatures!"
