Well, here is why I think that if Iran goes nuclear it will ultimately result in the destruction of that nation and its peoples, most of which IMHO probably are totally unaware of the extreme danger being nuclear puts them in.
Up to now, those nations that are nuclear are led by SECULAR leaders. I cant think of any nuclear nation with religious fanatics as leaders and this includes Pakistan at the moment.
It is my belief that if Iran is nuclear its just a MATTER OF TIME before that nuclear capacity will end up in the hands of Islamic extremists, I say this cause:
a. Iran IMHO is run by extremists
b. Iran has a history of supporting terrorist organizations that further the Islamic cause.
c. Extremists never see the entire picture, they only see what they believe to be the HAND OF GOD.
d. They will probably think that they can engineer it too look like a stateless society somehow obtained a bomb on their own and that they can get away with something like that.

However, lets say one way or another such a bomb gets on a cargo ship docking in lets say New York harbor and it is detonated with extreme loss of life and property. Does anyone here think for ONE SECOND the USA population will not rise up AS ONE VOICE and DEMAND RETALIATION. Regardless of what the current political leaders of our nation think at the time WE THE PEOPLE will force this issue. Much of the Islamic world probably thinks the USA peoples are soft but once aroused IMHO there is a no more ferocious people on earth then the people of the USA. I've seen it in combat myself. I think its because as a people with freedom for hundreds of years now we value life far more then the average worlds populance. jdn
