All the chain bookstores use Ingram as their distributor. Ingram seems to have a lock on the trade. ingrambook.com I don't know how it works elsewhere, but around here there is only one distributor of periodicals. When a new Borders opened he was only giving them five Wall Street Journals while the gas station across the street got a pile. Borders begged and pleaded, but the guy said, tough, that's what you get.
