Maybe but what would it accomplish?

I think it would lead to what amounts to the total surrender of the Taliban and Tribal Areas. In a practical sense that would mean they would make some agreement for the privacy that gives up Al Qaeda.

Had it been done in 2001 it would have also kept Cheney & Rumsfeld out of Iraq by giving them something useful to do.
