I read the same thing and get something different. Do you suppose Molly thinks WWI was a mistake? Nope. She's talking about propaganda Nadine. Sorry you don't get that, but it's most certainly there. The fact that there is propaganda, doesn't mean there isn't also a real problem- the propaganda issue is seperate- as is the case that we (as a country) were seriously misled on Iraq (again by propaganda). Iraq was a stupid target, if you are really "concerned" about terrorism, and Al Qaeda. You see, Nadine, in the real world sometimes there can be more than one problem. Isn't that fascinating?

It occurs to me another example might help you (since you obviously don't get the WWI example from Molly). We fought the Japanese in WWII. Fact is there was some pretty brutal anti-Japanese propaganda during that war, and American Japanese suffered for it. Does the fact that the propaganda was evil in many cases, and caused evil to loyal Americans, mean there wasn't also a problem with Imperial Japan, or that people weren't "concerned" about Imperial Japan and its aggression if they were also concerned about the difficulties of Japanese Americans? No Nadine, it doesn't. It means there were several problems. One problem was the fact that Imperial Japan attacked us (and was over running the Pacific), and one of the other problems was how we responded to this domestically.
