MIAMI LAKES, Fla., Feb 07, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Calypso Wireless, Inc. (Pink Sheets:CLYW), a leader in advanced wireless telecommunications technology, introduced commercial offering of the Calypso ASNAP(TM) Session Controller, ASC 1.0, supporting the Calypso Wireless patented ASNAP(TM) seamless session continuity capability with existing PBXs, newer SIP-based IP PBXs, integrated solutions with wire line telephony switches, as well as wireless MSC switches. Unlike other approaches like UMA, unlicensed mobile access, which only support legacy GSM over WiFi, or 3GPP IMS, IP Multimedia Subsystem, which require carrier network upgrades, only Calypso Wireless supports a seamless transition to Fixed Mobile Convergence, while being the only solution backed by the patent supporting Seamless Session Continuity of Voice, Video, and Data from macro-cellular networks to WiFi networks.
The Calypso Wireless ASC 1.0, is the only SIP-based solution utilizing the existing network infrastructure, while supporting newer SIP-based applications such as Location-based services and Presence-aware applications. Other applications include VoIP Trunking providing least-cost routing, along with seamless session continuity with WiFi. Commercial trials are commencing with leading service providers.
