Liberal Liars -- PoliPundit Before the Alito filibuster vote, I did a head count and predicted that no more than 32 Democrats would vote for a filibuster. That count turned out to be accurate, with just 25 Democrats eventually voting to filibuster the nomination. Why bring this up now? Because it’s yet another instance of Democrats being cheats and liars. The day before the vote, Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) whose job as Minority Whip is to count votes, said that he had 37 votes to filibuster.
