It would be a mistake to think this uproar is about cartoons.
It is not clear what agenda is being promoted, you would have to look at islamic sources to read between those lines.

What is most interesting about this uproar is that it shows that the Islamic clerics have learned Karl Rove's distractions techniques as well as he (which is no real surprise becasue Rove got them from the religious revival movement in the first place).

Ah... the worm turns.
