You can trade some Canadian warrants online at Schwab. Only those that have a pink sheet or OTCBB symbol. They also have to be in the Schwab system. I have traded Northgate warrants under NGOWF, but never did know if I had the A or C. You can trade any warrant at Schwab if you go through global investing. If it is not set up for trading at Schwab, they will set it up for you if you plan to make a substantial trade (several thousand $). I had them set up Canico warrants a while back. Big mistake. Commissions are high at Global investing, at least 2%. Online commissions are $9.95-19.95 depending on your trading volume. I have had good luck with Schwab, they have never told me no. I can trade most Canadian pennies online for $9.95, whether or not there is a US market maker. I recently found that at Scottrade any stock without a US market maker (this includes most small Canadian stocks, even on the TSX) I have to call in and pay full commissions.

There is a law in the US, that US citizens cannot have Canadian trading accounts or deal directly with Canadian brokers. That would cut out the US Brokers, we can't have that can we. The law is probably under the heading of 'free trade' too. What a crock. Also with regard to most Canadian options I have traded, US citizens can buy and sell them, but cannot exercise them.
