Here's an artcle from Multimedia Wire (9/16/97) that shows
ATVI is moving up nicely. Note: The majority of ATVI titles
have not shipped yet...Heavy Gear, Zork GI, Quake II, Dark Reign
(Tomorrow!), etc. This year has mainly seen the shipment of
lowerer priced Quake add-on packs, etc...likely accounting for
the large increase in shipment volume without the corresponding
increase in sales. This also makes me you realize just how important
a single big hit can be.

Title: Devil Made Me Do It: CUC Software Improving on Stellar 1996 Perfomance

Midway through last year CUC Software was muscling its way
through the PC gaming world, racking up $70.9m through the first six
months and eating up 17.3% market share, according to PC Data. How
could they possibly improve? With Diablo, that's how. Riding the
strength of its devil-infested multiplayer game, it has leaped to
$93.6m in sales through the first six months of 1997, gobbling up
almost 19% of the market along the way. Hasbro has also performed
especially well in 1997, and Electronic Arts [ERTS] and GT Interactive
[GTIS] are also up. Meanwhile MicroProse [MPRS], Broderbund [BROD] and
Interplay are lagging.
