I agree with your thoughts.

What's even more scary about the cell pathways acquisition (foreshadowing?) is that at the time, cell pathways had a silly little oral gel product (gelclair) approved to treat mucositis. Goddard thought he could get back the money he spent on clpa simply from gelclair sales, leaving the remaining technology free to the company.

Suffice to say, Goddard couldn't sell the product. No one can.

And now he just bought another product that he thinks he can easily sell to recover the money he spent.

Given the nice pocket cards he has been given as CEO, Goddard has seriously screwed up the rest of the hand.
