Movie director denies
accusations by radio DJ

PHILIPSBURG--Universal Media, the company that is currently working on a movie called "America's New War," is denying accusations on a local radio station that the production, being shot in part on the island, is non-existent.

According to Director of "America's New War" Steve Calamari SAYRE, Laser 101 DJ "Bulldog" has been constantly bashing his production for the past weeks. "Bulldog" allegedly also stated that one of the featured performers--Jerry Dunphy, a well-known actor and reporter in the United States--did not have a role in the film.

"America's New War" does exist and Dunphy does play a role in the movie, assured Calamari in a press release. Not only has the film's rough cut been seen and heard by several members of the press as well as members of the general public, there are more than 26 hours of scenes already filmed and available for viewing, he explained.

The film's sound track is available on CD and has been playing on a number of the local radio stations for the past several weeks, the producer continued. In addition, all the film's stills and poster concepts are available and most have been published in several local and regional newspapers and magazines.

As for Dunphy's role in the film, the actor has clearly verified his role personally to one of the local members of the press.

Calamari SAYRE also denied accusations by "Bulldog" that he has been involved in a scam in the US. He explained that for the past two years he has been attempting to bring attention to the subject of the political abuse of power and fraudulent manipulation of the stock market stemming from people who were directly associated with the Clinton Administration and the American Muslim Council.

The producer reiterated that he had tried to put an end to the fraudulent activities of the Amr Ibrahim Elgindy group, the group associated with the DNC and the American Muslim Council. David Evans, who is associated with the Elgindy group, in Bloomberg and The Los Angeles Times, wrote several articles in which Calamari SAYRE was portrayed as a "poorly educated tree trimmer" making inaccurate statements.

"This story was subsequently reprinted in hundreds of publications around the World. Due to these articles and false information provided by the Elgindy group, I am being falsely accused by the SEC of having published four articles regarding eConnect that intentionally contained inaccurate information."

Calamari SAYRE said he was not a tree trimmer, considering his education. He said his university degrees included a Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Northridge; a Master of Arts from Pepperdine University; and a doctorate from Kensington University.

Subsequent to his training and employment as a private investigator, he was recruited for service in Army Intelligence and served as a top-secret operative for Army Intelligence until he was transferred to officer's training for Nuclear Missile Launch, he said. He added that he had received basic combat training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and graduated with top honours from the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California. He said he had produced and directed three feature films preceding "America's New War."

Calamari SAYRE is locally working with Etienne Taquin, the executive producer in charge of all funds coming in and out of Universal Media's account. Taquin owns two businesses on the island and is the captain of the new marina in Marigot.

As for the production of the movie itself, Calamari SAYRE said the casting was complete. "We are currently just debating a few roles. Rehearsals are to start next week on French side. Hopefully we'll be done in May," he said, adding that principal photography should begin within five weeks. The idea is to screen it at the Cannes Film Festival this year, he said.

Because of the problems with electricity on the French side, certain scenes are being filmed in the US. Within the next three weeks, Universal Media will be releasing photographs of all those cast for the local roles.

Calamari SAYRE sincerely thanked all those who had come out to be seen for the casting calls. He also assured those who had not been cast for this film that there would be other films and other roles in the near future. He said the next film scheduled to be shot locally was "Lost at Sea," a comedy adventure feature.

Coming back to the issue with "Bulldog," Calamari SAYRE said that even though Dave Rothner (Bulldog's real name) had apologized for having repeated these rumours on the air, his restatement of "false rumours" on the air and directly to sponsors of the movie were difficult to retract.
