Arlen Specter did say Bush broke the law. Arlen is the #1 GOP expert on The Law in the senate. So he knows. No spin or pretense that Bush only spies on terrorists erases the fact that Bush broke the law. Also, Gonzalez refused to back up the Bushie BS claim that only terrorist suspects are being spied on. Of course they're not. The illegal spying is a pandemic abuse of power.

Meanwhile, Karl Rove is threatening GOP senators not to do their job of oversight over the executive branch, not to enforce the law, threatening them that if they do their jobs, Bush will never campaign for them again.

Is that a threat or a promise? I doubt many GOP senators want Bush campaigning for them again. Bush's disapproval numbers are the highest for a president in 40 years.
