The strength of the US is brains. The threat to the US is that too many here will be too stupid to participate. The opportunity for us will require recognizing global brain distribution and tapping into it as the growth of brains and markets outside the US eclipse our own brains and markets. Those who do not understand the world and engage it will fail. Those who are tied to 19th century economics will vent hot air. And many will simply become pre-occupied with the side-show du jour -- the housing market.
