How are you defining "good government"?

I don't think it can be defined without resorting to some sort of "idea".

My idea of good government is one that our founding fathers envisioned. Where the power of each of the government branches is held in check by the others, where the rule of law is more powerful than any elected official and where individuals are free to "pursue happiness" in the absence of government interference as long as they respect the human as well as the property rights of other individuals. Majority rule with minority rights.

Government compelling me to buy their version of a retirement annuity and old age medical plan is a direct violation of my constitutional right to pursue happiness, my right to decide what is best for myself and my family. The founding fathers are rolling in their graves over things like Social Security and Medicare.
