Well, I guess I can include myself amongst them. But I don't live my life according to a "doomsday" mentality.

And from my perspective, science is the process of revealing God.

After all, who can truly explain why the current laws of physics actually exist? Who can explain sub-atomic particles, waves, weak forces, strong forces.. etc.. and even their theoretically sub-components??

And who's to say that God resides in our dimension? I personally believe that we have as much possibility of accurately understanding "God" and his role in our 3 dimensional universe, as Charlie Brown has in visualizing the involvement of Charles Shultz in creating the world of the Peanuts.

Or maybe a better analogy would be the characters in SimCity, who are utterly unaware of the programmers that wrote the code for their world.
