The apologists for naked shorting, hedge fund manipulation and MM excess seem to argue that because there is no proof that all fails to deliver are naked shorting, there is no naked shorting or that there is "no naked shorting problem."

Ironically, it is the "crusaders" who see scams behind every microcap who are in the same camp or even the same people defending the continuance of naked short scamming and fighting any change in the system that restricts this scam.

Instead, I ask them - "why do you fight complete disclosure? Why do you fight fairness and equal access to information, not just by moneyed interests?" Why not call for total disclosure as you do when you target a supposed microcap scam. Support a regulatory system where hedge funds register and effectively and efficiently disclose their transactions. Support a system where market making is really market making and not "lining the pockets" of MM's.
